Matt and Kaitlyn (Kace) first met in 2017, (yep you guessed it!) on an airplane! Kace first caught Matt's eye when she walked on board the aircraft as the flight attendant. After a first flight and very little communication, Matt invited Kace to join him for lunch at the exquisite Minneapolis airport restaurant, Twin's City Grill for some, "incredible nachos."While hesitant at first, Kace being new to the city and the industry, joined. After nearly 2 hours of conversation, another flight worked and an overnight stay, the trip ended quickly. Days later, Kace reached out via company email and sent Matt her number, "Betcha" never saw that coming!

While working separate trips and continuously running into each other at the airport or on overnights, Matt worked up the courage and asked Kace out on their first date! The day started with Matt being a gentleman and picking Kace up, opening the doors, and "letting" her win at mini golf! After a Captain Crunch and Reese's Pieces milkshakes and some competitive fun, off they went to Matt's house for dinner...frozen pizzas and simultaneously searching for open flights to Amsterdam for the night! Sadly, flights were too full, so no spontaneous trips, yet!

After nearly 8 months of dating, Matt and Kace moved in with each other in their new place. Matt upgraded to Captain, and Kace continued working and building her seniority. In November 2019, Matt received some exciting news about being offered a First Officer position with FedEx in Hong Kong. Training was set to begin in April 2020. As this exciting news was happening another life-changing event occurred, in June 2020, after getting Kace's dad's blessing, Matt proposed to Kace. (It was a long time coming!)

That same month, Kace flew out to Memphis to meet up with Matt for a few days in between training sims where he proposed overlooking the great Mississippi! Yeehaw! Finally! All the pieces were coming together. As COVID continued to create chaos overseas, the only way for Kace to join Matt in Hong Kong was to be married and have the appropriate visas. So, in July 2020 they flew out to Las Vegas and got married by the king, Elvis! With COVID restrictions, there were limited guests able to attend the ceremony, so they always said," When the time is right, we will have our big wedding!"

This leads them to today, planning their dream wedding for all their friends and family to witness. As well as to celebrate a 5-year marriage milestone and enjoy a family vacation with all their loved ones.
